A new era after 88 years for Truebridge Callender Beach
After almost a century as a private consultancy Truebridge Callender Beach (TCB) has announced its union with Australian headquartered global infrastructure services consultancy, Cardno Limited.
Founded in 1919, TCB has emerged to be a leading provider of multidisciplinary consulting services throughout New Zealand. TCB has established a reputation for delivering land development, surveying, planning and civil engineering services to a loyal following of private developer, building contractor, local authority and government clients.
TCB employs more than 110 staff in six offices throughout New Zealand with the head office in Wellington and additional offices in Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa, Taupo and Christchurch.
TCB has provided infrastructure services to land developments at Whitby, Churton Park and Woodridge Estates in Wellington as well as Brentwood Park in Taupo and Kotuku Park on the North Coast.
TCB’s experience also includes several projects for Hutt City Council including one of New Zealand’s largest stormwater pumping stations at Opahu and an infiltration reduction programme for the council’s Waiwhetu sewer.
TCB are also assisting Marlborough based wine producer, Tohu Vineyard, by developing an innovative frost protection solution.
As a member of the Cardno group, Cardno TCB will be part of an international team with access to additional resources and key disciplines including environmental services, urban design and coastal, traffic and structural engineering.
In recognition of the importance of the union Cardno will establish a New Zealand Division. The division will be headed by Ray O’Callaghan, TCB’s current Managing Director. TCB’s five other directors and three principals will remain with the business and become shareholders in Cardno.
Mr O’Callaghan said the partnership with Cardno was the perfect strategic fit and would enable further growth in the New Zealand market both organically and by acquisition.
“There is the potential for TCB to offer existing and new clients additional services with TCB drawing on the services of Cardno’s global team,” said Mr O’Callaghan.
“As Cardno is an international company offering both physical and social infrastructure services the union will give our staff the opportunity to work on global projects as Cardno has permanent offices in nine countries,” he said.
Managing Director of Cardno Andrew Buckley said he was pleased to welcome TCB to the Cardno group.
“Similar to Cardno, TCB is a long established business, committed to client service, staff development and retention, and profitable growth,” said Mr Buckley.
“The team at TCB are a great asset, and when merging with companies we always look for good people,” he said.
“With the close relationship between Australia and New Zealand the new Cardno and TCB partnership will offer significant opportunities for cross selling of skills across the Tasman,” said Mr Buckley.
Mr O’Callaghan added the team at TCB is looking forward to the future with an enhanced capacity to deliver additional services to clients and becoming an integral part of the Cardno group. He also noted that Cardno would be continuing to look for opportunities to grow its business in New Zealand and overseas.
